Title: List of Retiring Laundry Staff from Presidential Commencement Speech, 1997.
Description: In this excerpt from President John Kuykendall's 1997 commencement speech, he honors retiring staff members, including two laundry employees; Juanita Archie and Frances Beaver.
Creator: John Kuykendall.
Date: May 18, 1997.
Text: It is our custom and our privilege on this occasion to note with honor members of the College family who have served faithfully in the College faculty or staff and now come to the time of retirement. This year, we have only seven such men and women to name, but I invite you to listen with care as I indicate the years of these dear friends. It is both a tribute to their fidelity and diligence and a compliment to this community they have served. For those named who are here this morning, let me ask that you stand as your name is called, and remain standing until we have an opportunity to express thanks to the whole group at the end of the list.
