Sorority Extension Process to date:
January 1995 Representatives from Alpha Delta Pi, Chi Omega, and Zeta Tau Alpha hold open forum at Davidson regarding sororities
Jan/Feb 97 Initial planning stages of bringing national sororities to Davidson, including communication with representatives from National Panhellenic Conference (NPC)
March 27 Patterson Court Council approves beginning the process of sorority extension
Vote passed PCC with only two oppositions
May 1997 Davidson materials and extension questionnaire sent to national headquarters
July 15 Extension materials due from interested groups
Received 19 responses from a total of 26 national organizations
Sept. 19 Committee selects groups to present on campus
Alpha Delta Pi, Chi Omega, Tri Delta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Kappa Gamma
Sept. 25 Issue is reviewed by CCRL
Proposed future timeline
October 1997 National Sorority Presentations on campus
October 31 Extension Committee makes recommendations to President Vagt
November 10 President Vagt extends invitation to colonize (2 chapters)
Late Nov. Colonization process begins with publicity and representatives on campus
January 17 Recruitment begins for sororities (after Self-Selection 1998)
