Page 1: Title: Davidson College. Linen, Laundry, and Dry Cleaning. For the academic year 1982-83. Subtitle: Because we are a small college in a small town, we operate a laundry to provide a convenient, economical, time-saving service to students. We feel the service is essential. To provide it, the cost is prorated to all single students residing at Davidson, including those off campus. The Laundry is not a profit making enterprise.
Page 2: Laundry Service- Basic personal service offered each week during the academic year includes:
1.Sheets, pillow cases and mattress covers furnished. These must be picked up and signed for. Soiled items can be exchanged for clean ones from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday only. Put soiled sheets in pillow case. We must see the pillow case before we can exchange it. Do not include regular laundry.
2. Wash-Dry-Fold—One bundle per week per student; must be in laundry bag.
3. Shirts and Blouses on Hangers—Shirts must be in a separate bundle, tied using sleeves of one shirt.
4. Washers, Dryer Use—Machines are located at the Laundry and Watts dorm for student use. We recommend these for less durable items and clothes with a tendency to shrink.
5. Button replacement included.
Dry Cleaning—Pressing and dry cleaning will be provided at a reasonable cost. Items are checked in at the counter and paid for when picked up.
Hours: Monday-Friday: 7 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Washer, Dryer Location—Watts Dorm—Available on 24-hour, seven-day basis.
Laundry—Available on Fridays from 11 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.; Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Minor Clothing Repair and Alterations are available at reasonable prices.
Make Sure Your Laundry Mark Is On All Items: Please check all labels in your clothing since some articles should be dry cleaned and now washed.
At the End of the School Year, you must turn in sheets, pillow case, and mattress cover at the Laundry. Obtain a receipt. Otherwise, you will be billed for missing items at a replacement rate. The Laundry is open from 8:00 a.m. to 3p.m. on Commencement Sunday.
