- The cooks and housemothers are employed by each house. While each house has at least one cook, there are presently five housemothers serving more than one house. The cooks and housemothers are covered by Workman's Compensation, have an optional hospitalization plan available to them and are paid by checks issued by each house. The president of the College has insisted that the houses pay the Federal minimum wage, and they have cooperated. The housemothers purchase the food separately for their respective houses, usually at a local supermarket on a weekly basis.
