- "...We also played basketball that first year. I think it was, yeah, first year. Same kind of thing, you know. We played basketball in high school; we want it. We're in college, we want to play basketball. And so, we did. And the story there in terms of coaching was, and I know your last question is was Davidson prepared? And the answer’s absolutely no. But were they willing to, you know, do the work to make this a success and the answer’s very much yes. So that first year with basketball, the men's coach was Terry Holland and his wife volunteered to coach and she's obviously not a basketball coach, I don’t even know if she was a basketball player. But she volunteered her time and we had a couple of student assistants. So, a couple of men who were athletes who knew the game. They were really the, the coaches. And again, it was just, it was a unique bonding experience of friends who loved sports. And we, we were pretty good. [...]"
