Text: Davidson College's Plan to Comply with Title IX: Davidson College has traditionally recognized and supported the value of collegiate athletics as an important contributor to human development and to the college's fulfillment of its educational mission for all constituencies of the College. The College, founded in 1837, has already made sizeable progress in its women's collegiate and intramural programs since turning co-educational in 1972. Davidson College supports fully the stated policy of the U.S. Government and the goals of Title IX and intends to promote those goals positively within the College.
