Libraries of Davidson College

This bookplate appeared in the library in Chambers Building. It was called Union library to signify the assimilation of the book collections of the college and both student literary societies.
This is the interior of the Chambers library, known as Union Library.
As the need for more space grew, Davidson received a $20,000 grant from Andrew Carnegie.
The “bucket brigade” moves books from Carnegie Library to the Grey Memorial Library. Dean of Faculty C. K. Brown, Professor C. R. Harding, Freshman George Floyd ’45, and President Cunningham help in the move.
