Post card printed in September 1946, from photographs belonging to the Public Relations Dept. and mostly taken several years earlier. Built 1924-1929 and replaced antebellum Chambers Building, named for Maxwell Chambers, Esq., whose gift of $250,000 before the Civil War made Davidson the wealthiest college at that time in the South.
