Born c. 1855-1858 to William Holtzclaw and Millie White. Married Hannah Lowry on November 20, 1879. In 1880, he is listed as a farmer living in Davidson with his wife Hannah and mother in law Lilly Alexander. In 1900, he is listed as a janitor living in Davidson with his wife Hannah, stepson Walter Johnston, and daughter in law Mamie Johnston. Died May 1, 1913. Buried in the "Davidson Colored Cemetery" on May 2, 1913.
