- Born c. 1844-1849 to Thos Iovanna and Tilly Allison. In 1870, he is listed as living in Salisbury as a day laborer in the household of Joseph Davis (white) and his family. Married on April 30, 1873 to Alice White. In 1880, he is listed as living in Davidson with his wife Alice, his sons Willie and Otho, and his aunt Diana Torrence.
